Scenario-based Simulation Training

Simulation devices make excellent classrooms for pilots. Flying repetitive exercises in a sim can help build muscle memory and embed procedures. Scenario-based training combines these procedures with real-world situations. Pilots may know how to fly an approach technically but do they know which one to choose? A simulation device, syllabus and a good instructor can recast a series of maneuvers into a powerful storyline and learning experience.

The EAA Proficiency365™ Program

The EAA Proficiency365™ program is out to make the simulation training regimen offered at AirVenture each summer accessible to pilots year round. Community Aviation is working with the Experimental Aircraft Association and Redbird Flight Simulations to share the same missions, resources and best practices from the Pilot Proficiency Center venue at Oshkosh with a network of flight training centers and qualified flight instructors around the USA.

Available at a Simulation Device Near You

Redbird Flight Simulations has distributed missions from the EAA Pilot Proficiency Center to scores of flight training centers around the USA.

The EAA Proficiency365™ missions have been distributed to scores of Redbird simulation devices around the country.

Professionally developed exercises and scenarios with enhanced realism, dynamic weather, and syllabus-based lesson plans.

Simulation missions can be flown on virtually any Redbird ATD and any aircraft configuration available to the instructor.

Instructor Resources

Each EAA Proficiency365™ mission comes with a Lesson Plan and Pilot Kit. Pilots-in-training can brief at home and arrive prepared. Qualified instructors have access to a syllabus that can provide a first-rate training experience.

Pilot Kits provide learners with the information needed to brief and prepare to fly any EAA Proficiency365™ mission. Each kit includes situation details, starting positions, mission objectives, METAR weather, as well as Jeppesen charts, plates, and airport diagrams.

Syllabus-based Lesson Plans were developed by master instructors and Pilot Proficiency Center leaders Greg Jolda and Doug Stewart. They contain mission details and resources including objectives, training elements and common errors made by pilots-in-training.

CloudAhoy

Simulation flights can be recorded on ForeFlight and then uploaded into CloudAhoy for a detailed debriefing.

SkillScore™ Tracker

Provides a personalized proficiency score for pilots based on flights in an airplane or a simulator. Free for EAA members.

FAA WINGS Flight Credit

EAA Proficiency365™ simulation scenarios qualify for FAA WINGS Flight Credit. Qualified instructors can submit directly.
